Setting Up A Mailing List

To make people revisit your site again and again, it is important to remind them as well as updated them with latest news about your site. One of the most convenient way is to form a mailing list. You need to collect the email addresses and send out mails to them.

Collection of Email Addresses
Collection of email address is not a difficult job. People do not mind to give their email address as a necessary condition for access to some interesting information. Another way is to put up a box in which the people can enter their email addresses to sign-up for your newsletters.

However, it is better to create a mailing list that comprises of only those people who are interested in your site. This can be done by making the sign-up process voluntary.

Content of Mailing List Emails
It is very important to provide relevant and useful information in your emails. No one would like to read the dull news about the technical features of your website. If your mail contains plain technical information and not for use by common people, then it would go directly to the junk mail folder. Spend some time and add things to your email that people would like to see and refer to, again and again.

Also, take care to include the links to the latest stuff on your site as well as to the popular things. An interesting way of doing this is to write the uses of a product as if it is intended for the owners of that product. This can make the visitors curious and encourage them to buy it.

The Technical Side
After successfully creation of a mailing list and writing the mail that will be sent to the customers, now you need to look after the technical issues. To send these emails at once, a simple program such as Outlook can be used. All you need to do is to paste the emails in it. However, take care to write all address in the Bcc field to avoid sending the mailing list to everyone.

There are some web-based solutions that allow you to send emails without installation of a program or sending it from your computer in order to avoid getting blacklisted for sending excessive emails. This is a reasonable way of managing your list as well as sending emails.
